<p>This resolution commends Maria Corina Machado as the official presidential opposition candidate in Venezuela.</p><p>The resolution also (1) condemns efforts by the Maduro regime to prevent Maria Corina Machado from participating in Venezuela's 2024 presidential election, (2) rejects the Maduro regime’s efforts to carry out fraudulent presidential elections, (3) demands the Maduro regime permit reputable election observers to observe the election, and (4) urges the President to strengthen and reimpose sanctions because certain negotiated conditions have not been met.</p>
